Dentist in Hamilton Leads in Advanced Dental Technology!

“Innovation is what America does best. Whether it is the Apollo Project to the moon, developing the most advanced defense technologies available, the rise of the Internet or the latest advancements in biomedical gene therapies, our nation leads the world in transformative innovations.” Hamilton Family Dentistry supports this statement made by notable politician, Martin Heinrich. Dr. Alan Arrington and his office team have completed countless hours of continued education each year to stay at the forefront of technology. We feel this is the best way to ensure our patients get the most effective, painless treatments possible from our dentist in Hamilton.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral photography has had the most profound impact on patient care of any dental technology created in the last century. An intraoral camera is a tool your dentist uses to examine your mouth in the most detailed way possible. This advanced piece of equipment comes with upgrades that have improved patient-dentist relationships. Because the camera is so small, it is able to view tighter areas in your mouth. It is also equipped with an LED light, rotation capability (up to 90 degrees), and powerful magnifying capabilities. Each feature that benefits the dentist also benefits the patient. Your dentist understands symptoms and conditions thoroughly, but it’s often difficult to explain without a quality visual. When your dentist uses an intraoral camera during your examination, you’re seeing exactly what he or she sees right then. Essentially, our communication is as crystal clear as the advanced images on the screen.

Digital X-rays

Radiographs, commonly referred to as x-rays, transformed the field by giving doctors the ability to see internal bodily structures without having to preform unnecessary surgery. Unlike traditional x-ray technology, digital x-rays allow our team to see high-definition images of the inside of your teeth and gums immediately. There are chairside computer monitors available during your appointment, and images can be enhanced here for clear, easy patient education or treatment planning. Digital x-rays are also easily transferred to other computers. Dental labs, insurance providers, and specialists can have access (with your consent) to these files right away, reducing overall treatment time.

Soft Tissue Lasers

Dental diode lasers, mostly known as soft tissue lasers, are ideal for procedures that involve cutting oral soft tissues. Although surgery isn’t ever our first plan of action, it is very beneficial to have this advanced dental technology in Hamilton. If dental surgery is completely necessary, Dr. Arrington can utilize a soft tissue laser to make more precise incisions. This reduces bleeding on site while at the same time speeding up recovery. Here are just some of the various procedures your dentist may use a soft tissue laser for:

  • “Gummy smile”—Dental lasers can reshape gum tissue to expose healthy tooth structure and improve the appearance of a gummy smile.
  • Soft Tissue Folds—Dental lasers may be used for the painless removal of soft tissue folds often caused by ill-fitting dentures.
  • Gum Disease Treatment—Dental lasers may be used to remove diseased tissue and eliminate pockets of dangerous bacteria in the mouth.
